Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
Save Room
This was the first fanfic that I ever wrote, and it's still close to my heart. I like this story because it helped me find out the dynamic I wanted for Ronon Keller, and it totally paid off in their scenes "Quarantine," down to Ronon nuzzling Jen's hair. (squee!) One of the few times TPTB got the characters right. I originally meant for it to be more Ronon/Teyla friendship, but it drifte to Ronon/Keller, and I enjoyed writing them.
Let Go
Ronon/Keller, romance/humor fic. I had a lot of fun writing this. I took ideas from an episode of "Enterprise" and the fic "A Hanging Offence" by tielan, though I wrote this months after I read her story. But, the whole awkward situation full of mishaps and Ronon and Jennifer switching roles was fun to write. Seriously, this was so much fun to write.
Parallax
Written for the John & Teyla Thing-A-Thon, this was my my first attempt at John/Teyla fic. I took a chance entering the challenge. I didn't think I'd be able to write anything John/Teyla, but signed up saying I'd be willing to to art OR fic. I waffled back and forth for a few weeks, tried to sketch something, but the muse wasn't working. I had been trying to draw something from one of the prompts, and then, one day, I looked saw the first one in a completely new light: "what you see isn't necessarily what you get." It reminded me of something that I'd learned in photography class, about parallax error. Then all the pieces began to fall into place. Then I incorporated the second prompt, which I interpreted as Teyla learning a new skill. I'm really satisfied with the finished product. :)
Leather & Left Behind (a tie)
"Leather" is, I believe, my most thoroughly indulgent fangirly fic. I created an interesting OC, Seraih. (I like her, anyway). Then I carried the character over to "Left Behind," which is currently in progess. I like it because, though there are elements of Ronon/Keller, like most of my other fics, that's not the central focus, and I think it's the closest thing I've written to something that would actually happen on the show, getting away from my romantic leanings. I just wish more people would respond to this story.
ETA: I forgot to tag 5 other people. Hmm . . . not many people on my flist are writers or have written 5 fics, so if you happen to read this and want to do it, feel free.
