While LJ was down, I spent last night making icons for various challenges and a theme all my own. I think I may branch out and do icons for other fandoms, like Firefly/Serenity.

I would love to read some fic featuring these two:

If there is any to speak of, that is. I made this icon last night with a batch of shippy ones that will be posted at a later date.

I would have liked to see Ava Dixon again. I had an idea that she would eventually realize her virtual world was just that, and she would eventually try to break out/escape, a la The Matrix. ETA - I found one: "Life's Illusions" by

Anyway, I've got a lot of fic-related things to do, like, write at least a chapter on either "Back Home", "Left Behind" or "Need to Know."

things on my plate

I'm working on a story that's will be a sequel to both "Leather" and "Let Go."

I know that I really need to finish up "Back Home." I planned on having that storyline tied up before Season 5 begins airing on July 11th (in the U.S.). I just haven't been inspired to write it , lately. And what's worse, I pretty much know how the story is going to end, it's just all the stuff in between that's causing trouble. Maybe this week I can write something on it, because this month will surely fly by much like May just did.

I also need to start doing something for my John & Teyla Thing-A-Thon (organized by the wonderful

tielan) assignment. I'm thinking it's going to come out in the form of an illustration, maybe even a sequential, because I'm liking the idea for the word prompt I have. Posting opens June 29th, so I don't have to much time to decide.

OMG. . . .LJ just ate my entry. Grrr. . .Let's try this again:

Before I realized it was 2 a.m. and I was still working on my final piece for

paintedspires . I decided to call it quits at that point, since I was in much need of sleep, and I had three of the heads in pretty well, The bodies are still proving tricky, though. I hope I can get something decent out by Friday, and at least ink it, if not color it. I've been trying to do something different with each piece.

I wonder. . .

Is it considered cheating* to make an icon out of my

paintedspires piece so I can tease ya'll as to what I have in store because I'm just so happy to have something done and just can't wait to post it?

*shrug*

*update: Funny. the LJ Writer's Block prompt is "What is your definition of cheating?"

Art progress update:
Artwork #3: Finished, waiting to be posted.
Artwork #2: Drawn, scanned and needs some love from Photoshop. Either that, or I'll attempt to ink it. If I get it done tomorrow, I may post it Friday instead of on Monday, my second posting date.
Artwork #1: Yet to be redrawn. I'm hoping it'll come out way better the second time around, since my skills have been loosened up on the first two pieces.

Writing: I have yet to start on the next chapter of "Back Home" but hopefully I'll have it done this weekend. Thanks for all your wonderful, insightful, and encouraging comments.

Painted Spires posting begins.

Posting began at

paintedspireson Monday. There's some really awesome art so far. Go check it out. Now.

In an insane bout of artistic inspiration I signed up for 3 prompts. The first one is due this Friday, April 25th. I'm almost done with one, though. I've drawn another, but I don't know if I'd call it done. The other artists seem to be pulling out all the stops with their pieces, so I've had to rethink some of my art. And, I suck at Photoshop, still, at least with digital coloring, anyway. Now, applying textures and manipulating text on multiples layers is another thing (I have a BFA in Graphic Design).

Nevertheless, I'm very excited to post what I have. Can't wait until Friday. My last piece is definitely gonna be a challenge, as it involves having to get the likeness of multiple SGA characters. I think Ronon and John tie in the category of hair-most-difficult-to-render.

Ugh.

I got an awesome idea for another R/K fic, but I don't think I could make it work. Anyone wanna hear it and bounce ideas? Maybe I could work something out. I haven't yet started on the next chapter of "Back Home", so I really need to focus on that.

However, I also really want to write an Ronon & Teyla friensdhip fic that's set after BAMSR.

Dudes. . .

I just got an idea for a tag to The Kindred Pt. 2. I thought about it before, but now it's nagging me to be written. There will be hints of R/K, maybe ending with a bit of romance. . .not sure. It just would really like to revisit some of the themes presented in "Save Room."

My LJ looks really lonely, so here's an update.

• artwork #1: Drew it, but had to scrap it because I misinterpreted the prompt. It has yet to be drawn over.
• artwork #2: Thought about, but not yet attempted.
• artwork #3: Drew it, then signed up for the prompt, so this may actually be the first one posted.

Fanfic:
• Back Home Pt. 2: 623 words, so far. I'm about third of the way done with the chapter. I'm rather indecisive about what direction I want the plot to take. I need to commit to one direction and go with it. Teyla's pregnancy and the events of Midway are a bit of a stumbling block.
