an observation

I posted this on my tumblr a few days ago. Not many of my followers are into SGA, so I figured I would share it here.

I was watching The Goodwife, and in this scene, I noticed that the boy who plays Alicia Florrick’s son Zach has green eyes, which is the rarest occurring eye color (variations of blue and brown being most common). Then my train of thought went to other actors that had green eyes—Robin Tunney, Kaley Cuoco, Joe Flanigan…

Then I was all, omg, this kid could totally play a young John Sheppard.

I think it's cool to have some sort of mental reference. :)

I know. I was just watching the show and they did this closeup on his face and it hit me.

Yeah. I was really taken with how similar their eyes were, not just the color.

Even more than that. There's a specific condition with the iris is actually bicolored or tricolored [and for the life of me, the exact name escapes me right now]. If you look closely at Joe's eyes [rough, I know] - you'll see he has a darker kinda grayish ring around the outside, the middle green color ring and then a brownish center ring. It's very noticeable if you ever get to meet him face to face. [Again, such a task. ]

It's something I tend to pay attention to. My eyes are the same way. ;}

Interesting. My sister's eyes have almost the exact same color variation that you described and is apparent in Joe Flanigan's eyes. I have noticed it, yes, but I was unaware that there was actually a name for it.
