SGU, where do we begin? I suppose the beginning is as good a place as any.

The thing about this show is, I've been hearing about it for about to years. They canceled Stargate Atlantis, and it was like this show was meant to take it's place, and I was a little bitter. I followed the blog of Joseph Mallozzi, so I saw I was up to date on the casting process and the production of the show. The last few months, though, I stopped following his blog on a regular basis. There was a lot of uproar about the fail going on with the plot of certain episodes...and it was just too much. I figured it would be healthier just to wait and see and judge the show by the final product.

I took the opportunity to download the premier free from iTunes (yay!), so I got to watch the whole thing commercial-free. So, here are my thoughts as best I can remember.

So, I finally saw "The Pegasus Project" as it aried on SciFi. It's one of the few SGA eps that I haven't seen. Well, the given this past season (I've missed quite a few eps), it's the only one I want to. I know it's actually aired on SG1. It was pretty cool. I really liked the idea of John and Cam hanging out as I'd read in fic, and I finally got to see it in action.

Teh hotness...

Now I need an icon for that. :P

I also liked the Rodney/Sam snarkiness (liked the reference back to "Grace Under Pressure"), and Vala was awesome, as always. In the beginning of the ep, I was surprised she wasn't trying to stuff things into her jacket to take back to Earth, and then she said the line about finding interesting "artifacts"...LOL.

I really need to catch up on SG1.

This also makes me long for the Atlantis movie, whenever that gets off the ground.

I saw this on [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper's journal and thought it was a good idea.

What I wrote in 2008: Quite a bit more than I expected, considering I just started writing fanfic in December of 2007. It's been all SGA. In November I did NaNo and came out with a novel (The Keeper's Kin). Still needs a lot of work, though.

When I settled down to watch the newest episode of Stargate Atlantis, I reflected on something that [livejournal.com profile] azure_horizon had said on her in a comment about last week's ep "The Lost Tribe." She mentioned how many people allowed one minor thing to get in the way of them enjoying the rest of the prevailing awesomeness of an episode, or something like that.

If y'all know me, you'll know what my deal was with last week's ep.

Ok, this is not really a review to the episode so much as my reaction.

I have no words, really.

It was awesome. Loved the play between all the characters. There was a lot to cram in the 43 minutes and 30 seconds they're allotted.

But. . .

Dude. . .

Oh, Carl Binder, how I heart thee.

He wrote this episode, and I think he was responsible for Keller's development in "Missing," also, so he gets props for that.

Ok, I pretty much liked nearly everything about this episode so I'll just list them here.

For the past couple of weeks, every time Friday comes around, I'm a little surprised to see the episode discussion posts on the comms that I watch. I'm like, "Oh yeah, it is Friday. Again. New episode of SGA, ah."

So, I watched Daedalus Variations, not expecting much from what I had seen of the previews on Scifi.

The best thing about this episode was that I did not expect to enjoy it, and it completely surprised me. I loved the element of teamwork and the character moments in between, even though they slowed down the plot a bit. There were definitely moments where I wondered where they were going with the whole thing. I do wonder if this episode is going to tie into any other episodes. If not it's cool. This was a good stand alone. It's not the best episode evah, as I've come to agree with others, but it was definitely entertaining, and had all the things I'd been missing about the show. :)

So, I just got back from watching "The Seed."

Wow, so this is what is feels like when you're wondering if others people see the same things you're seeing in terms of your preferred ship, or if you're just seeing what you want to see.

I suppose it's good to start with the facts.

So, not the best episode evah, but I enjoyed it. I was entertained. The whole team working to save Jen was nice.
