Title: "The Warmth Experience"

a_flame_within : one from a drabble of mine. Cause it's summer-y. (posted below)

Now, y'all might think this drawing is fine and I'm just being crazy. Just trust me, it will be better the next time around.
This was good practice, though.
Meh.. . . . . . . . . .
So, I'm nuts. I redrew the thing.
Teaser:

The drabble:
For someone who had grown up somewhere so cold, Sheldon marveled at how much she looked like she had been raised on a beach. She spread out her towel and laid down on her stomach seeming to be joining his campaign to ignore Leonard as he dug through the cooler and complained about sand getting everywhere. Sheldon pulled off his own shirt and sat on the ground next to the blond giving up his stigma about sharing for a moment to perch on the edge of her oversized towel. Neither of them spoke as they sat in the sun with their eyes closed, both of them enjoying the warmth sinking into their skin.
I like this much better. A lot less shading, and more in my current "style." Don't know if I'm completely finished with this, though. May tweak a few things (some clouds would look nice in the background).
Also, my scanner is kind of crappy with picking up the detail in the shading. You can't even see the tufts of chest hair that I drew. :/ My dslr camera does a better job.
But enough of my whining... Enjoy. :)
Added a bit of background and recycled paper texture:

Now I think I'm done. :)

Date: 2010-04-06 06:15 pm (UTC)I loved the first one, the likenesses were very true, but the second one! Penny is so adorable I just want to grab her and hug her. (I mean, I won't tell you what I want to do with Sheldon, but.)
Love <33

Date: 2010-04-07 12:31 am (UTC)Glad you see what I mean about the first drawing. It just wasn't me, ya know? Good to know Sheldon looks good. He actually came out a lot better when I drew him more from my instincts.

Date: 2010-04-06 08:17 pm (UTC)Thank you for showing us such a comfortable, happy scene for them. They're beautifully drawn as ever. The closed eyes speak volumes!

Date: 2010-04-07 03:06 am (UTC)Actually, both of them are laying on the blanket, as Sheldon doesn't seem to mind sharing in this instance.

Date: 2010-04-07 07:03 am (UTC)Now I want to head to the beach... even if that means it's an 8 hour drive!

Date: 2010-04-07 02:03 pm (UTC)Fortunately, I live on the coast, so the beach is only an hour drive for me. :)

Anyway, glad you like it. Thanks for looking. :)
