Title: "In a Bar"
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] renisanz
Medium: Pencil, tone in Photoshop
Characters: Arthur, Ariadne
Rating: G
Warnings/Spoilers: None.
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters. The pencil lines are my own.
Notes: A scene straight from "Mistaken for Strangers (Five Ways They Never Met)" by [livejournal.com profile] cloudydaise . I read it this afternoon and drew this in the evening.

Teaser:

I did a much better job with the proportions this time. I guess Ariadne it sized right. It was hard to tell, because she's sitting. She's quite wee, yet she has long limbs. I don't know if the dress is what the author had in mind. I'm not good with original clothing designs, so it's based heavily off a dress that I own.

Feedback is lovely.

As far as proportions go, I've noticed you draw people with rather large heads.

I like the clothes \8D/

Yeah, I do. It's something I'm conscious of, but it also depends on the size of the paper I'm drawing on. It comes and goes, but the phenomenon seems to occur most when I'm learning how to draw new character or drawing an unfamiliar pose and I don't have an exact reference.

Thanks. :)

It's gorgeous. Your Arthur is wonderful. The suit is very nice indeed.

But I think you're drawing Ariadne as a lot more femme than she is. And not just in terms of outfits and hair. Ellen Page is beautiful, but I think her face is wider and her features aren't quite that delicate.

Thanks for the critique. Ariadne's face has been bugging me, actually, and you've pointed out just what I need to fix. :) I thought her face looked too slim, but I wasn't sure. As for the feminity...the fic called for a dress that had guys taking notice, so I tried to come up with something that did that but still fit her personality. :/

Beautiful, gorgeous as always. I really love the way you sometimes use frames like this, it's so dreamy.

Thank you. :D I added the frame because I thought it would give a intimate feel of a bar. I imagined drawing silhouetted bodies, but...yeah. A little too ambitious. ;)

Love them both SO MUCH. Really - you got the hair spot on, which for me is what makes a character. Thank you for sharing!

This is honestly the best artwork I've seen for the fandom so far. Lovely, lovely work. Really love the faces on the characters. You really did a nice job on Arthur's eyes.

Oh, wow. Thank you very much. :)

There is a lot of really good Inception fan art on deviantART--my favorites HERE (http://renisanz.deviantart.com/favourites/#Inception). :)

I love the way you caught Arthur's little grin. (It's slightly too sweet to be a smirk.)

With the fic that went with this, I have this very bad mental image of Eames dancing. It's... vertical harassment, less body language and more body swearing....

LOL. Oh, my muse is going crackish with the thought of that. I imagined Eames to be an passable dancer, though. Arthur, on the other hand, is probably an amazing dancer, like ballroom or somesuch that h is parents made him take with his little sister.

But, of course, he wouldn't waste his moves at a party like this. :P

Drawing sitting pictures can be so difficult sometimes. I know they make me want to tear my hair out at times.

This is lovely. I adore this pairing and how you draw them.

I agree. I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to do with anything below the waist. Though, it gets a little easier with practice.
