renisanz: angelo, jono, & jubilee watching tv (teamshep2)

Well, shoot.

I was made all this fuss about finishing "Back Home" before the airing of the "Search & Rescue," The first episode of Season 5.

So, what happens if I watched it already after reading all the twitter online about how awesome the episode was? It appears that someone(s) leaked the thing online and people have been acquiring the file like crazy.

So what if the episode was actually as awesome as people claimed, possibly the best episode of the show so far? Sure, a lot of things were crammed into one episode, but at the end of it all there were a lot of really great team/character moments. Hypothetically, if that was the last episode of the show that I saw, I would be completely content. I don't really know how that bodes for the rest of the season, though.

Yes, the opening scene was beautiful and heartfelt and completely unexpected. Lots of squee! from the John/Teyla shipper contingent, I tell ya, and rightfully so.

I was in awe of Ronon's constant encouragement and perseverance in keeping John focused on the positive while they waited for rescue. He's such a great friend. ("Ah. . .it's just a little scrape. No big deal," Ronon said of the gaping wound/hole in Shep's side. LOL)

"You keep adding things to this deal..." Sheppard whined, later.

There might have even been a moment in the infirmary that has great Ronon/Keller plot bunny potential. They were in the same room, and didn't have any direct contact, but Ronon was all like, "Don't touch me," as he slapped away the hand of the doctor attempting to treat him. When the man persisted, Ronon raised up off the gurney on which he was sitting as if to tell the guy to "back off." Then the camera tracked behind him to show Dr. Keller treating a wounded Sheppard.

The delivery scene was pretty amusing. I guess it worked because it was kinda making fun of itself, with Rodney saying what most of the audience is thinking: "Nobody has babies this fast!"

But alas, this is television. Scifi Television at that, where ANYTHING can happen. Even 1 hr 15 min labor & delivery. Hey, maybe it's a Pegasus human thing.

So, this episode definitely helped give me some more inspiration as I work on my J&T Thing-A-Thon entry. I'll have to check the spoiler level requested by the recipient of my fic to make sure. Now, at least, I no longer have to stress about what the Teyla's baby's name will be. I just have no idea on how to the first name.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It sounds good from your description. I'm not a fan of John/Teyla, but I'll deal. Where can you view it?

Well, the ep isn't actually posted online anywhere. You have to downlaod it using a bit torrent. I dloaded the bit torrent from a site called mininova (http://www.mininova.org). Just go there and do a search for "stargate atlantis." After you download the link, you need to open it in a program that allows you to download torrent files. I'm on a Mac, so I used a program called "Vuze" (formerly Azureus). That's the best I can explain it, hoping you're familiar with that process.

It really is a good episode, though. I mean, it is the season opener, so hopefully set the proper tone for the rest of the season.

And I may have taken a few caps of the aforementioned infirmary scene. I might update this post with them.

Nothing wrong with watching the leaked ep. So long as you watch the actual ep when the time comes around! :D

I plan on it. However we have no cable, and I watched most of last season by downloading the eps from iTunes. Looks like I'll have to do that again for season 5.

Well, do a good deed...and get someone else hooked on Atlantis! Preferably someone with a ratings box on their TV... :D
