Well, this has been a pretty awesome weekend so far, despite the impending hurricane.

First, it's great to have your flist page load to be greeted with a wonderful and completely unexpected fic rec that someone posted about you.

"I love the technical detail of this story, the way the author takes us through the steps of Teyla's familiarity with the camera, the way that the relationship between John and Teyla - his importance to her, her importance to him, even after the birth of her child - is shown without ever actually needing to explicitly say the words. It's a great story about their friendship - acceptance and comfort and trust - not only between John and Teyla, but also between Teyla and Keller, and between Ronon and Keller."

It's been a while since I've done a rec post. Let's see what I got. . .

"Cobbled Apples" (G) by kazlynh - A really sweet Ronon/Teyla friendship fic, where Ronon offers Teyla a bit of comfort the best way he knows how.

"Every Day is Another Tomorrow" (PG-13) by tielan - Make sure you're not distracted while reading this fic, as it will break your brain. She did this for a role reversal challenge, and she gets props just for making it coherent, besides switching everyone's places.

"Tag for The Shrine" (PG) by journeyman07 - I was melted into a squeeing mess as I read this. A nice, satisfying read for all you R/K shippers a little put out of sorts, as I was, by the ending of that ep (Yeah, I tend to acquire an English accent when reading her stuff, as she's Irish.)

"The Astonishing Persistence of Memory" (PG-13) by tielan - Her sgabigbang entry. It's really . . . quite long, among other things, but well worth the read. It ate most of my Sunday a few weeks back. The world she builds around John as he finds his way back to himself is quite beautifully written. The images of the fields of ripened tava beans (very similar to wheat, the way I pictured it) has stayed with me. There's lots of team goodness in here as well. I have plans to do an illustration to go with this story, I liked it so much.

That was some fic rec Tielan gave you! And also so very true! I loved your Thing a thon story! :D

And yes, her SGA big bang story is, quite simply, awesome :)

Thanks again. It's funny because that was my first attempt at John/Teyla fic, but I do like how it turned out. :) It's really cool that it was so well-received.

Damn. I just realised that I was going to ask if you would do a sketch for my "bonus features" for the Big Bang.

Except my posting day is Sunday, which is so not enough time for you!

If you can't, then don't worry about it - I kept on thinking that I should ask you and then RL kept getting in the way! Whenever you have the opportunity or the inspiration will be fine.

Ok, you're fortunate today. It's been really, ridiculously slow at work, so I was able to sketch out something (on a post-it note no less). I'll scan it and slap a banner together in a few hours. ;)
