*blink blink*

Ok, this is not really a review to the episode so much as my reaction.

I have no words, really.

It was awesome. Loved the play between all the characters. There was a lot to cram in the 43 minutes and 30 seconds they're allotted.

But. . .

Dude. . .

The second to the last tag scene. . .

What the world?!?

*blink*frown*furrowed brow* Wants to pet Ronon dreaded head and coo, "It's gonna be ok. She didn't mean it."

It was freaking amazing, wasn't it?? :D Honestly, one of the best eps I've seen from Atlantis in years. :D

When I first read your comment I thought, "Is she taunting me?" Then I realized the only horrible thing about the episode was that one scene near the end that I mentioned, that could have been totally left out. I mean, seriously, your hate of Keller and her shipping with anyone aside, it seemed out of place with the rest of the episode.

But yes, up until that point, and then the scene after it with Rodney and Danny (heh, Shepp called them that) in the infirmary, the episode was pretty amazing. I think First Contact was better overall, because not quite as much stuff was crammed in.

Ah, sorry. But yeah... the scene could definitely have gone without. It was obviously just TPTB resolving the triangle and, even though you're a RK fan, you had to have known that Rodney would "win" her. I felt so bad for Ronon. And her... she just seemed... contrite, you know? Yeah she didn't want to 'lead him on' but, aside from the almost kiss, I don't think there was much in the way of RK (sorry, I know you ship them). TPTB have stuffed McKeller down our throats so much that the triangle was pretty much obliterated before it really started.

But seriously. McKeller. Bleh.

The episode, I thought, was one of the best ones I've seen from the Atlantis writers for a while. On a whole, it wasn't entirely 'character' driven - it was more plotty and although Teyla got left out of the ep, I don't think there was anything that she could have done 'out there' to give her more screen time.

Yes, contrite is definitely the word for it. And then her whole, "Do you still want to get something to eat?" was like the equivalent of "Let's just be friends." It was just a really bad scene. I mean, I think they did the best with what they were given. . .and Jason and Jewel played it well. *sigh*

Yeah, Teyla's been on the sidelines a lot this season. However, it's true there wasn't much for her to do in this episode. Her relationship with John is in a weird place this season. Like, we see touches of it here and there, and it still seems like there's a bit of tension, but they're still friends and comfortable and John seems to be pretty supportive of her. He left her in charge when he went off to rescue everyone, and that was cool.

I'm taking a back seat on the Teyla thing. I am having issues with peoples issues on it.

Really?

I don't really have a big issue with it. It's just. . .I don't know. It's been going on for five years, and there's an interesting dynamic between John and Teyla now, definitely. *shrug*

I don't really have an issue with the lack of Teyla. I have issues with other people's issues on the lack of Teyla. A lot of folk are quite... narrow minded. There are people who watch the show for one character/pairing only and when it doesn't go their way... I don't understand why these people watch the show and bring others down with them when things don't go their way.

That R/K scene was rough to watch. I knew it was a 50/50 chance as to how the writers would go with this one, and I remember an interview Jewel gave where she says Keller does make a choice, but damn...I was so hoping she'd choose Ronon. Also, I didn't expect it in this episode. In a way it seemed sort of tacked on.

Ah well, as soon as I resucitate my fangirl, it will be back to business. I'm also a Snape fangirl, like so many other ficcers out there. Hell, his canon mistress offed him. However, in fanfic, the man is resurrected and carries on relationships with all different characters in thousands of fanfics. A dead ship compared to a dead guy? If you're a fanficcer worth your salt, easy-peasey, man. ; )

Heh. Yeah, I'm trying to persevere and get my fic done. I mean, I think we forget one of the main points of fanfic is to have things go our way. I mean, as long as it "makes sense," so to speak, I'm on board with anyone who wants to continue to pursue R/K through the events of "Lost Tribe."

*nods head*...Yep. I think that was completely out of left field and that the writers might have needed to put a little something in there...but it didn't have to be that. I'm still in denial, and probably will continue to be like that for the very possible future. No big...might be a little fun denying it...who knows what I can come up with, right?

Well said, well said.

Well, I've resolved to push through the pain. I did take a way some nice character elements from the episode, and I'm trying to used it in the writing I'm doing. I was all set to finish up a chapter this weekend, and then I saw that ep. However, it did give me a bit of insight that maybe Jennifer isn't as tolerant of Ronon's impulsive behavior, and as we've seen, it could be a big hurdle for any potential relationship between them.
