Scrolling through my flist, looking for interesting things.

• Singed up for NaNoWriMo (in a whimsical bout of crazy). I blame quarter-life crisis, as I'll be 26 on the due date. I may post a few things excerpts here. Maybe.

• OMG. . . asugar  recc'd not one, but TWO of my fics on het_reccers . Like. . . wow. Just when I'm wondering what's the point of this whole writing thing. She totally makes it sound like I can write well. :P

Why These Must Be Read: These two unusual and perceptive fics are from an author who usually writes (wonderful) Ronon/Keller stories. They are extremely short and subtle so I would urge any Stargate Atlantis fan to read them, regardless of pairing preference. Both stories use the act of expression through art as a means for the characters to communicate, albeit unintentionally. The stories are too short for excerpts and renisanz punctuates them so beautifully with quotes that I was inspired do the same.

• It pays to give freely. :) The fic I wrote for journeyman07  ("Best Interest") inspired her. She used that story as a springboard for a new fic, "Never Give Away Your Advantage," which is totally awesome. I mean, I was really blown away by the first chapter (smilling goofily and squeeing by the end), and it's different than anything she's previously written, so I'm extremely excited to see where she takes it.

NaNo...I don't know what I was thinking when I clicked submit earlier, but hopefully, I'll get that figured out.

P.S...You're the one that inspired me to sign up for it, figured if you're going to give it a try, why can't I?

I realized after I signed up that I'm going to be literally out of the country (in Canada) during the final days of the challenge. So I'll have to seriously get my act together and get as much written before then. A friend pointed out that I need to go ahead and make an outline, which is a good idea. All day today, I've been thinking about where I want the story to go. It's guess the story is a bit of scifi-not-quite-fantasy, so I need to get a jump on the worldbuilding and character profiles.
