I just barely cracked 5,000 words on my novel a few minutes ago. Geez, it's like pulling teeth trying to get the story going today. Maybe it's because I'm seriously fatigued. I went to bed just before 2AM, and then woke up at around 5:30 because I was cold. The cover had come off me on the bed, which in a sober reminder that I need to make my bed up properly. After that, I couldn't get back to sleep really. :(

So, yeah, despite my financial crisis, I'm going to hit up Starbucks for a Venti Chai Latte w/ no water. And a pumpkin loaf.

However, I did discover a lovely cool called Google Docs, so I won't have to keep emailing my story to myself when I work on it away from my Mac.

ETA: Got a bit more writing done, though, unfortunately, nothing I'm willing to share. Hopefully I'll have an excerpt for tomorrow's post.

Yeah, I have 4 blankets on my bed right now, just to keep myself from freezing at night, as I seem to always be cold.

Don't worry, you'll make it, you always do!

:)

Get some rest, girl!!!

Thanks. *hugs*

I remade my bed with some jersey knit sheets that I bought months ago (were still in the Target bag and packaging). should be a lot warmer than my other sheets.

Yeah, I the novel is coming along, but slowly. I just can't come to terms with just throwing anything on the page. I just hit 6,000 words today, so it's not too bad, but it puts me 600 words below par for the day. *sigh*

You're welcome. *hugs back*

I'm sure you'll sleep better. Please, make sure you're getting enough rest too!

Being tired can hinder your ability to think clearly, which in turn could limit your focus on your writing.

I'm sure you'll get there. Don't be afraid to write in smaller increments. A little in the morning, more during the day, if your work and time permits, and the rest at night. Might be less overwhelming that way.

Take a break if you feel frustrated, or stumped. Get a light snack, or a drink. Take a walk. Or just close your eyes for a few minutes and try to picture where you're story is going, how that next scene is going to play out.

(Here I am giving you the same advice I should be using to get my own unfinished stories...well...finished!!!! LOL!!)

Whatever you do, don't overwhelm yourself.

:)

Good luck!!! :)

Thanks sezj. I seriously hardly got any writing done today. I think I really need to take a step back from the story. It's like pulling teeth that the moment. I'm trying to rework the impetus for the whole plot, and Tara's parents are becoming a problem, or having them around anyway. You can't just go off on an adventure with them around, ya know? ;)

Anyway, I guess I'll just write the fun stuff and figure out the details later, but right now it's looking like I'm going to have to rewrite a significant part of the opening scene. :( Good thing I didn't post excerpts from that. ;)

Thanks again fro the encouragement. To bed I got.
