fanmix: Peace & Hate

It started when I made my Spock/Uhura fanmix (which still has yet to be posted) that I decided to listen to it with Sheldon and Penny in mind. Then, I decided to try and make a mix just for my new favorite pairing. I thought I'd include the same songs, but the S/U mix was made with the events of the movie in mind, so a lot of the songs just didn't go. Instead, I tried to find songs by the same artists on the other mix.

The final result is greatly inspired by various fics that, the recent "Personal Meta" discussion at sheldon_penny. In particular, the inclusion of songs by Adele and Duffy was because of fujiidom 's mention of Penny's like for female indie rock. Though I'm a graphic designer, this is my first time making actual cover art for a fan mix (*hangs head sheepishly*). Something went wonky with the back cover art and I didn't realized it until after I uploaded the zip file and tried to link the image here, so you might want to just download it from the link above if you want it to show up.

Oh, my goodness.

I d'l'ed this when you first made this post, but didn't get the chance to listen to it until last night -- and I've been listening to it constantly since. GREAT song choices, and nearly all the artists unfamiliar to me. Unfortunately iTunes screwed up the song order so I'll have to sort that out eventually -- I can tell you chose the songs carefully to go through a narrative progression and I'd like to listen to them in their proper order.

Right now I'm most loving "The Luckiest", which just about broke me the first time I listened to it -- so beautiful. Also love "Pressure Suit", "My Same", "Birdhouse In Your Soul", "Peace and Hate", and "Just a Phase" particularly.

Thank you for introducing me to some great new music AND providing me with inspiration as I work on another S/P fic! Fantastic work.

"Luckiest" is actually the last song in the mix, since it is such a powerful song. Glad you enjoyed it. I did spend quite a bit of time finding songs to tell Sheldon and Penny's story, as it were.
